This work was designed to evaluate the efficacy of therapy of chronic venous diseases (CVD) in an outpatient setting with the use of VENOTEKS compression hosiery. A total of 30 female patients presenting with a chronic venous disease were instructed to permanently wear compression stockings during 6 months. The analysis of subjective and objective clinical symptoms and signs, results of legometry, volumetry, and ultrasound studies with registration of the blood flow velocity in the femoral vein was performed in accordance with the specially developed protocol. The study has demonstrated positive dynamics of subjective symptomatology of CVD. The best results were obtained with the elimination of convulsive and pain syndromes (96.6 and 93.8% respectively). The data of legometry give evidence of the reduction of the lower leg circumference (in 100 and 96.7% of the left and right limbs respectively). Statistically significant positive dynamics of volumetric parameters was achieved within 3 months after the initiation of compression therapy. A tendency toward the enhancement of the blood flow velocity in the femoral vein was documented in 71.4% of the patients. All the patients showed a high degree of compliance with the prescribed therapeutic regimen. It is concluded that the treatment of patients presenting with chronic venous diseases based at an outpatient setting with the use of compression hosiery is an efficacious and safe method for the management of this pathological condition.
