Introduction. The analysis of the most common inguinal hernia classifications is presented. Study purpose. To highlight the problem of the formation of supravesical hernias after previously performed laparoscopic surgery for bilateral inguinal hernias; substantiate on clinical material and propose a modified classification of inguinal hernias with the allocation of supravesical hernias. Material and methods. Performed the analysis of surgery of 51 patients with bilateral inguinal hernias using standard bilateral TAPP hernioplasty followed by follow-up examinations in the period from 1 to 5 years. Results. The proposed classification variants were used in the treatment of 33 patients with bilateral inguinal hernias. In this case, a differentiated approach to the choice of surgery option was used. Control examinations were performed after 6 and 12 months. Relapses and the formation of supravesical hernias were not detected. Conclusion. The advisability of the classification and the effectiveness of its use is demonstrated on clinical material.
