Abstract:

In order to evaluate anesthetic support in combined endoscopic procedures retrospective analysis of quality of gastroscopy, colonoscopy and combined procedures in hospital environment from 2007 to 2011 has been carried out. Due to the ASA physical status classification patients were divided in the following way: ASA I - 8%, ASA II - 72,7%, ASA III - 17,3%, ASA IV - 1,5%, ASA V - 0,5%. Total number of upper and lower GI tract endoscopy amounted to 3951. Frequency of use of intravenous anesthesia in colonoscopy was revealed to decrease year to year giving place to sevoflurane anesthesia. After questioning 100 patients in 2011 98% of them would agree to such anesthesia care during repeated combined endoscopic procedure. Therefore modified sevoflurane anesthesia is the safest and most efficacious method of anesthesia care in combined endoscopic procedures.
