Abstract:

Major international endoscopic societies recommend systematic photodocumentation during colonoscopy as a crucial component of quality control. Visual documentation is an integral part of endoscopic examination of the colon. In addition to photodocumentation of normal anatomical landmarks, it is also recommended to document pathological lesions, including colorectal neoplasms. Considering accurate and adequate documentation of images as an important part of the endoscopic protocol, it should be performed systematically during endoscopic examination of the colon.
