Perioperative management of patients with coronary artery disease

The guidelines for management patients with concomitant coronary artery disease undergoing non-cardiac surgery are presented in the article. Recent data on epidemiology, pathogenesis, classification and main principles of perioperative management of coronary artery disease are highlighted briefly. Key recommendations on risk stratification and pre-operative examination of patients with co-existing coronary artery disease are presented. Peculiarities of anesthesia and intraoperative monitoring in coronary artery disease as well as postoperative management of patients with coronary artery disease are described. Significant attention was paid to prophylaxis and treatment of postoperative complications, principles of management of perioperative myocardial infarction are set out in detail. Basic criteria of medical care quality control are presented.
