Abstract:

OBJECTIVE

To develop the method for complex balneotherapy at the stage of spa treatment of children with cerebral palsy.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The study included 50 children with cerebral palsy who were treated in the Pyatigorsk Clinic of the North Caucasus Federal Scientific Clinical Center. Basic treatment in the control group (n=20) included spa regimen, dietary nutrition, bischofite baths, therapeutic gymnastics, massage, classes with psychologist and speech therapist, as well as applications of therapeutic mud from the Tambukan Lake. In the main group (n=30), children additionally underwent color rhythm therapy procedures.

RESULTS

Treatment was followed by better overall status, positive dynamics of clinical signs of disease and neurophysiological indicators.

CONCLUSION

Spa treatment is effective in children with cerebral palsy. The developed technique is pathogenetically substantiated and affects cerebral integration mechanisms through normalization of cortical functions and systems of its non-specific activation.
