Abstract:

The objective of the present study was to analyse the modern pathogenetic theories of the mechanisms underlying the development of the lesions in the gastric mucosa (the so-called Vishnevsky’s spots) under effect of overcooling. It is emphasized that none of the currently available theories comprehensively accounts for different forms and scenarios of the development of Vishnevsky’s spots.
