The purpose of the investigation was to study the prevalence of mixed urinary incontinence and an association between the clinical and urodynamic manifestations of the disease and to analyze the results of treatment in female patients with mixed urinary incontinence. Two hundred female patients aged 24-68 years (mean age 53.4 years), diagnosed as having urinary incontinence, were examined and treated. The clinical diagnosis of mixed urinary incontinence was symptomatically established in 72 (36%) patients. The latter underwent urodynamic study that verified the presence of a stress component in all the cases examined. The imperative component (detrusor overactivity) was confirmed in 51 (70.8%) patients. Drug therapy with trospium chloride was used in all the patients with mixed urinary incontinence for 1 to 3 months. According to the data of the investigations, the drug therapy produced the best result in eliminating the imperative component preoperatively and postoperatively.
