OBJECTIVE

To evaluate the clinical efficacy of the stromal vascular fraction (SVF), its biological properties, to determine the factors influencing the biological properties of SVF.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

We analyzed clinical efficacy of SVF, its biological properties and factors influencing these properties. SVF has a positive effect on fatty autograft engraftment. Better skin quality was noted in some cases. We distinguished the type of cells in SVF (adipose derived stem cells — ADSCs) determining clinical efficacy of SVF. We found positive correlation between proliferative potential of SVF mesenchymal cells and thickness of subcutaneous fat layer over time. No dependence of total number of SVF cells from this parameter was noted. Both local factors and patient characteristics influence proliferative potential of SVF mesenchymal cells.

RESULTS

The authors analyzed own results, presented hypotheses about the mechanism of SVF influence on adipose graft engraftment and role of microenvironment in homeostasis of adipose tissue.
