Abstract:

The paper shows the current possibilities of sonography in the diagnosis of Klatskin’s tumor using contrast-enhanced and minimally invasive techniques. Cholangiocellular carcinoma is a relatively rare disease versus other malignant abdominal tumors. Klatskin’s tumor is known to be dominant among other cholangiocarcinomas. The standard ultrasound examination of the patients using the contrast agent SonoVue and a minimally invasive intervention under sonographic guidance, can establish the diagnosis of Klatskin’s tumor, by estimating the extent of the lesion and morphologically verifying the process.
