Abstract:

Objective: to evaluate the angioprotective effect of sodium L-arginine succinate (Unifusol, «POLYSAN», Russia) in acute doxorubicin intoxication in the experiment. Material and methods. The efficacy of the drug was evaluated by its effect on the balance between vasodilators and vasoconstrictors, the ratio of pro- to anti-inflammatory cytokines, and the degree of endothelial cell apoptosis. Results. Sodium L-arginine succinate was shown to improve endothelium-dependent vasodilation and to reduce the degree of doxorubicin-induced systemic inflammatory manifestations. Conclusion. The pronounced endothelioprotective effect of the test drug is a pathogenetic rationale for further investigation of Unifusol as a complex agent for cardio- and angioprotection in cardiovascular diseases of various etiologies.
