Methods for obtaining RI for laboratories are diverse, but not standardized. Along with the direct determination of RI, indirect methods for calculating and verifying RI, as well as their transfer to another test system, are proposed. However, due to the lack of the ability to use a single source, or the lack of clear guidelines for calculating using indirect methods, the problem of making a decision in favor of the most simple or accessible ones remains (instructions for use, 90.1% of respondents), as well as choosing from a variety of available sources. Among other conclusions, the results of the survey showed the wish of respondents to use the better sources. This article presents the results of a survey of the first study in Russia to collect information about the sources of reference intervals for selected analytes. The collected information and its analysis can be the first step towards actualizing the problem, can be used in the future to develop a harmonization program for reference intervals of values.
