Abstract:

Objective — the study is aimed at systematic review of the literature dealing with the epidemiological aspects of sexually transmitted viral infections and the results of the study of clinical efficacy and safety of non-specific antiviral therapy in patients with anogenital herpes and papillomavirus infection. Material and methods. We analyzed international and Russian publications on this issue. Search depth was 15 years. Results. Present-day knowledge on the prevalence of sexually transmitted viral infections was provided. It reflects the results of the study of efficacy and safety of Panavir in the combination therapy of anogenital herpes and papillomavirus infection. Conclusion. Systemic and topical treatment of recurrent herpesvirus and anogenital human papillomavirus infections using various dosage forms of Panavir improves the efficacy of treatment, reduced relapse duration (1.5—2-fold), extends remission period (2.5—5 fold), and demonstrates good safety and tolerability profile.
