Abstract:

Wells syndrome (eosinophilic cellulitis) is a rare disease of unknown etiology. There are about 80 cases in the world. In patients with Wells syndrome, rash is similar to cellulitis, but infection cannot be detected. Wells syndrome may develop as a result of drug intake, presence of various infections, and, possibly, in the presence of malignancy. Despite the fact that Wells syndrome is a sporadic disease, there is information about familial cases. Wells syndrome diagnosis is established based on the results of histological examination. Prognosis is favorable: cutaneous process regresses within a few weeks or months, in most cases, completely.
