Xerosis (dryness) and pruritus are among the most common symptoms in dermatology, which can be characterized by various severity, duration, and causative factors. Skin barrier disorders are accompanied by changes in skin innervation due to altered ratio of the factors regulating the growth of nerve endings and increased susceptibility to any stimulation. Therefore, pruritus is a common symptom in many chronic dermatoses accompanied by xerosis. Objective. The study is aimed at assessing the efficacy and convenience of administration of dermatological and cosmetic products Xeracalm A.D. balm/cream in patients with xerosis and pruritus of various origin. Material and methods. The study involved 289 patients. All patients applied Xeracalm A.D. balm/cream products BID for 7 days as a part of complex therapy or as monotherapy. The effectiveness was evaluated in 7 days with allowance for the dynamics of clinical symptoms (xerosis, pruritus) based in VAS index, quality of life index, and the results of questioning of patients (doctors) about the convenience and comfort of the use of these topical preparations. Results. The use of dermatological and cosmetic products Xeracalm A.D. balm/cream leads to the elimination of skin xerosis, as evidenced by decreased VAS index by 41%. In most patients, relief of pruritus (75%) occurs in 3—7 days. According to patients, the use of dermatological and cosmetic products Xeracalm A.D. balm/cream results in significant effect, contributing to improvement of the quality of life. Along with the ease of use and the absence of side effects, this results in high patients’ compliance with treatment.
