High prevalence, complicated pathogenesis, and chronic nature of eczema collectively necessitate in-depth study of this dermatosis and development of new efficacious methods for its management. Photophoresis using narrow-band medium wavelength radiation and a mometasone furoate-containing cream followed by laser blood irradiation was shown to be helpful in achieving consistent positive results and normalization of metabolic and immune disorders when applied to the treatment of patients with chronic true eczema.
