Abstract:

Apical hypertrophy is a rare variant of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) accompanied by hypertrophy of the left ventricular apex. The authors report own initial experience in surgical treatment of a patient with apical HCM and no left ventricular outflow tract obstruction. Combined myectomy via transapical and transaortic approaches was carried out.
