Abstract:

Clinical and morphological results of 28 orthotopic heart transplantation were studied. Mortality during hospital period amounted 21.4%. Ten-year survival rate amounted 45%. 2 patients are observed during 21 years after the operation. Ultrastructural organization and microcirculation of transplanted heart were investigated. Pathological changes in cardiomyocytes and microcirculation disturbances were revealed corresponding to proposed term «posttransplant cardiomyopathy».
