Abstract:

The authors of this paper, researchers from Germany, Australia, and Poland, summarize the results of the clinical application of the herbal medicinal product STW 5 (Iberogast) for the treatment of the patients presenting with functional dyspepsia, one of the most widespread diseases of the digestive organs. Numerous meta-analyses of the results of multicenter randomized clinical studies, pharmacological and toxicological trials have demonstrated with a high level of evidence and statistical significance the efficacy, good tolerability, and safety of the phytopharmacon in question both in children and adults presenting with functional dyspepsia.
