Abstract:

The authors present a 3-year-old child with exudative otitis media and speech delay. This case demonstrates asymptomatic course of disease and late diagnosis. Data on epidemiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment approaches for otitis media with effusion are presented. The need for early detection of Eustachian tube dysfunction, interdisciplinary collaboration between specialists, and expanded screening programs for pediatric population is emphasized.
