Abstract:

Some historical aspects of the development of obstetrics and gynecology in our country are briefly described. The main dates of the life and work of outstanding Soviet obstetricians and gynecologists V.Ya. Ilkevich, M.S. Naidich and V.G. Butomo are presented. Their practical activities and contribution to the development of scientific and practical surgery and gynecology in the USSR are analyzed. It is noted that in their person Soviet medical science had venerable scientists, prominent organizers of obstetric and gynecological care, tireless innovators, talented teachers and educators of the younger generation of clinicians. The names of these scientists will always occupy an honorable place among the outstanding representatives of Russian obstetric and gynecological and medical science.
