OBJECTIVE

To study the dynamics of perinatal and neonatal mortality in the Moscow Region before the start of perinatal centers’ functioning and in the process of their work

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The analysis of the structure of perinatal mortality in the Moscow region for two periods is carried out: 2009—2013 and 2014—2019.

RESULTS

From 2016 to 2017 as a follow up the program «Healthcare of the Moscow Region for 2014—2020» the 7 perinatal centers started to operate in the Moscow region including 5 new ones. The prenatal diagnosis service was improved. The work of regional educational institutions belonging to Ministry of Health of the Moscow Region was intensified that made it possible to reduce perinatal mortality by 34% and neonatal mortality by 73%.

CONCLUSION

The main prospect for a further reduction in perinatal and neonatal mortality in the Moscow Region is connected to intensive work on professional education and advanced training of specialists in the obstetric service and also related specialists working in this area.
