Objective — to evaluate the efficiency of one-stage use of a combination of metronidazole and the tribiotic Lactoginal in the treatment of patients with recurrent bacterial vaginosis. Subjects and methods. The study enrolled 52 reproductive-aged patients with a verified diagnosis of bacterial vaginosis. The criteria for the efficiency of therapy were disappearance of clinical symptoms of the disease and normalization of laboratory data. Results. The clinical and laboratory efficiency of therapy was 83.4%. The inefficiency of performed one-stage therapy or its inadequate effectiveness was recorded in 13.6% of cases. Following 2 months of the observation, the mean titer of lactobacilli was 4.11 lg CFU/ml in the study group. Evaluation of the safety and tolerance of the drugs recorded no serious side effects in the entire studied group. In addition to the clinical efficiency of combined therapy, there was persistence of a pool of lactobacilli proper, then formation of vaginal normocenosis. Conclusion. The clinical and laboratory estimation of one-stage therapy with metronidazole and Lactoginal suggests the high efficiency and validity of using strain Lactobacillus casei rhamnosus spp. 35 (Lactoginal) as an ingredient of combination therapy in patients with recurrent bacterial vaginosis, the effective elimination of an infectious organism, and the simultaneous stimulation of the indigenous microflora.
