Clinical and laboratory features were analyzed in 152 HIV-infected patients seeking gynecologic advice for pathology of external genitalia. A group comprised predominantly young women aged 21 to 30 years with Stage III (subclinical) disease. In 49.3% of the patients, pointed condylomas of external genital organs and vagina were a cause of their seeking. Most of these patients were found to have drastically suppressed cell immunity. Highly active antiretroviral therapy along with surgical condyloma removal could achieve a 2-year relapse-free period in 94.7% of the patients. Laboratory tests could diagnose leukopenia in 33.6%, thrombocytopenia in 27.6%, anemia in 21.7%, elevated transaminase levels in 37.5%, and hypocoagulation disorders in 11.2%.
