This clinical study substantiates the efficiency of application of two-jaw elastopositioners with non-linear structural rigidity to the correction of dentoalveolar forms of anomalous occlusion. The orthodontic treatment was given to 36 patients suffering abnormal occlusion combined with distal occlusion of tooth rows (dentoalveolar form). Patients of group 1 (n=18) were treated using two-jaw elastopositioners with non-linear structural rigidity manufactured by the computer-assisted modeling techniques and interacting via the magnetic field, in group 2 (n=18) standard two-jaw elastopositioners were applied. Assessment of clinical efficiency of elastopositioners of the two types from the results of profilometry by the method of Schwartz and dynamics of roentgenological characteristics as described by Steiner demonstrated that two-jaw elastopositioners with non-linear structural rigidity ensure physiological parameters of occlusion and a 18% reduction in the duration of orthodontic intervention compared with the use of traditional devices.
