Digital transformation is included in the list of five national development goals of Russia. In accordance with the strategy for the healthcare development in the Russian Federation, priority directions are the following: development of a unified state information system in the healthcare; implementation and development of medical information systems in all medical organizations; establishment of centralized digital platforms, including with the use of artificial intelligence. The main challenges for the digital transformation of the healthcare are the low level of digital literacy among the population, the low level of confidence to digital medical services and the low rate of transition to electronic document flow. This article presents an overview of regulatory legal acts, SUST and ISO national and international standards, as well as publications of Russian and foreign experts, revealing the basic concepts and terms of digitalization in the field of healthcare. The aim of the review is to provide a better understanding of challenges which the state set to doctors in terms of the digital transformation, as well as to increase the confidence level of healthcare professionals to the implementation of digital technologies in the work flow.
