Objective — to investigate the gender- and age-related features of cardiovascular (CV) risk factors (RFs) in adults who underwent the first stage of preventive medical examination at a Krasnodar territorial polyclinic in 2015. Material and methods. According to gender- and age-related features, the frequency of CV RFs was studied in health groups among the adult population (n=2461; mean age, 43.1±17.3 years) attached on the local principle to the outpatient unit of Territorial Clinical Hospital One, Research Institute, who underwent the first stage of preventive medical examination in 2015. Results. The frequency of CV RFs was as follows: unbalanced nutrition (UN) (74.6%), low physical activity (LPA) (53.7%), overweight (OW) and obesity (44.5%), hypercholesterolemia (29.3%), elevated blood pressure (BP), (19.8%), smoking (10.1%), hyperglycemia (2%), and harmful alcohol use (0.28%). The prevalence of UN significantly decreased with age (χ2=17.2; p=0.000). LPA was significantly more frequently recorded in women (69%) (χ2=11.4; p=0.001); there was a preponderance of 18—38-year-old (40.6%) people. The highest proportion of OW people was among those aged of 61 or older (38%); OW was predominant among women (63%). The underdiagnosis of harmful alcohol consumption, smoking, and elevated BP necessitates the monitoring of the completeness and quality of diagnostic testing and the compliance with the methodological foundations for identifying CV RFs during preventive medical examination of the adult population.
