Abstract:

This article presents an overview of current information about treatment options, the process of rehabilitation of patients after the operation of orbit exenteration. The main elements of the rehabilitation and rehabilitation process are highlighted, during the implementation of which undesirable postoperative complications may occur, which can lead to functional disorders, unsatisfactory aesthetic results. The factors influencing the effectiveness of the rehabilitation process are determined. Special attention is paid to the problem of fixation of ectoprosthetics of the orbit, their aesthetic characteristics. The issues of choosing a surgical method for eliminating the orbit defect with soft-tissue flaps are considered in detail. The main mechanisms of fixation of ectoprosthetics are considered, including using adhesive systems based on silicones or water-soluble emulsions, as well as using magnetic or beam-locking elements based on extracoral implants. Reconstruction of the orbit with soft tissue flaps, ectoprosthetics after its exenteration is an urgent and largely unresolved problem in plastic and maxillofacial surgery.
