Thrombosis risk is a factor of early death. It may be consequence of as the hyperaggregation as the hypercoagulation.The aim of our work was studying of hemostasis parameters in elderly patients. 12 patients (mean age 85±6 years old) without complaints were observed in Irkutsk Diagnostic Centreand informed agreement was received from all of them. Platelet aggregation with ADP, collagen, arachidonic acid, epinephrine and ristocetin was measured with AggRAMaggregometer with recommended by device creator (Helena biosciences). Sta Compact Max2 (Stago) was used for prothrombine time (PT), thrombinetime (TT), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT) and fibrinogen measurement. APTT (median; min—max) was 41.2 sec [CI: 38.1—44]in tubes with 0.129 mol/l final citrate concentration in bloodand APTT was 41.2 sec [CI: 36—43], when final citrate concentration was 0.109 mol/l. Maximal reference limit for adults APTT in our laboratory is 40.8 sec, so we observed slightly elevated result from some elderly persons (non-significantly). Average value for PTwas 14sec (reference interval 13.5—14.6); for TT — 17.1 sec (reference interval 16—18.1), for fibrinogen 382 mg/dl (reference interval 267—402). There was no disaggregation or second peak of aggregation in all cases. The absence of hyperaggregation and hypecoagulation in very old persons confirms that thrombosis is a factor of death. Some increase of APTT can testify the need for clarification of elderly persons reference values. It let to correct treatment of elderly persons and improve quality of life.
