OBJECTIVE

To evaluate the external application effectiveness of gel containing an active substances’ combination (mucopolysazaride polysulfate, pionin, onion extract, allantoin, niacinamide) in the treatment of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PH) of the skin.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The observation groups were compiled depending on PH reason: group 1 (n= 16) — PH after removal of benign skin neoplasms, group 2 (n=5) — PH at skin burn area, group 3 (n=11) — PH after cryodestruction of the viral wart, group 4 (n=8) — PH at acne elements area. The effectiveness was assessed based on cross-polarized photographing in RBX-mode (Reveal, Canfield), mexametry (Multi Skin Test MC 750), by photodynamic diagnostics.

RESULTS

According to photographing data and mexametry there was a regression of pigmentation in all patients. The most pronounced effect was noted in post-inflammatory pigmentation after benign skin neoplasms’ removal and post-acne. Auto-fluorescence data by 365 nm LED laser showed the greatest effect in post-inflammatory pigmentation after benign skin neoplasms’ removal.
