Rakhmanov Victor Alexandrovich (1901–1969), one of the leaders of Russian dermatology of the 40–60s of the 20^th century, professor, corresponding member of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the USSR, honored worker of science of the RSFSR. He is the author of 300 scientific papers on the development of occupational diseases and late radiation injuries of the skin, the treatment of focal scleroderma and other dermatoses, syphilis, and study of the state of the neuro-receptor apparatus of the skin in pathological conditions. He developed method for preventing pyoderma in the workplace, effective first aid method for victims of skin burns with mineral acids and alkalis, paste for cleansing the skin from industrial pollution, highlighted new clinical forms of dermatoses (radiation angiosarcoma, sunny red acne, acute rubrophitia), introduced new methods of treatment with rezoquine in discoid lupus erythematosus, lidase in scleroderma, diatomitis in trophic ulcers, etc., introduced a histochemical method of research in Dermatology, due to which it was possible to identify changes in clinically intact skin with lupus erythematosus, proved the distorting effect of small doses of penicillin on the clinical picture of syphilis etc. V.A. Rakhmanov made a significant practical contribution to dermatological science in our country and was awarded the Order of Lenin, 3 orders of the Red Labor Banner and medals.
