When using invasive methods in cosmetology and plastic surgery, an important consideration is the length of the recovery period. The search for new products that accelerate skin regeneration processes is of great importance to the practice of this medicine. The purpose of the study was to assess the immunohistochemical markers of skin in response to the use of an epidermal growth factor preparation, and a dressing with hyaluronic acid and collagen. Material and methods. In eight patients with burn injuries, the biopsy specimens from the marginal zone of the donor skin graft were studied on the 7th day of therapy. Two of them had received spray-on-skin treatment with epidermal growth factor (EGF), two had dressings with hyaluronic acid and collagen (PHCC), two received EGF treatment and PHCC, and two were treated with Dermazin (control group). From the biopsy specimens, in cryostat sections, the measurements of markers Ki67, Bcl-2, to the EGFR receptor and HLA-DR were assessed by immunohistochemistry. Results. The use of EGF (low Ki67 values, high — Bcl-2 and HLA-DR) promotes a shift in the balance from cell proliferation to cell differentiation, restoring the epidermis. The use of Dermazin (high Ki67 values, lack of Bcl-2 and high HLA-DR values in the dermis) can reliably cause a protraction of the proliferation phase. The use of only PHCC does not prevent the inflammatory process in the skin. The combination of EGF and PHCC retains cell proliferation and differentiation in the epidermis and dermis, has high HLA-DR values and does not reveal a marker for the EGFR receptor in the dermis. Thus, the features of the regeneration of donor skin grafts, as effected by different therapies, have been established.
