Abstract:

OBJECTIVE

To assess the effect of coronary artery lesion on long-term outcomes after left ventricular (LV) reconstruction in patients with LV aneurysm Menicanti type II and III and ejection fraction <30%.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

A retrospective single-center study included 156 patients with LV aneurysm Menicanti type II and III and reduced ejection fraction (<30%). SYNTAX Score was used to estimate severity of coronary lesion.

RESULTS

Four patients died in early postoperative period from low cardiac output syndrome and subsequent multiple organ failure. The follow-up period was up to 12 years. Sixteen patients died in long-term postoperative period. Multiple regression analysis was performed to identify risk factors of mortality.

CONCLUSION

SYNTAX Score is a predictor of long-term mortality after LV reconstruction in patients with LV ejection fraction <30%. Correlation between mortality and SYNTAX Score appears at SYNTAX Score <17.
