Abstract:

Acute proximal dissection is a life-threatening event associated with a high risk of fatal complications that require surgical correction. Mortality rate is about 50% within 48 hours. Over the past decades, several methods have been proposed for correction of acute aortic dissection type A and concomitant aortic insufficiency. At the same time, one of the important issues is the choice of correction technique in each case. The main purpose of this review is to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of various techniques for aortic root reconstruction, immediate and long-term results of aortic root repair.
