Abstract:

Compression therapy is effective in eliminating venous symptoms in patients with chronic venous diseases (CVD).

OBJECTIVE

To evaluate the effect of universal size compression knee socks with pressure at the ankle level of 18—21 mm Hg on the dynamics of symptoms in patients with chronic venous diseases.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

A multicenter open-label randomized controlled trial is scheduled (Russian Registry of Treatment of Chronic Venous Disease of the Russian Phlebological Association: ID RRT_CVD 1.017). The trial was designed in accordance with the CONSORT standards for randomized trials. Study endpoints: dynamic of the total sum score of symptoms (main outcome), of the score of certain symptoms and of the number of CVD symptoms in one patient between the 1st and 2nd visits, patient’s compliance with prescribed compression therapy, dependence of the effectiveness of compression knee socks on patient compliance, determination of the minimum duration of wearing compression socks for the achievement of the clinical effect
