The advent assistance of endovenous thermal ablation in the routine phlebolgical practice in Russia required the reorganization of medical care for the patients with chronic venous diseases (CVD). Aim of the study. To elucidate the role of endovascular ablation in the routine clinical practice of phlebologists and to substantiate the approach to the choice of the methods for the correction of truncal reflux. Material and methods. The database of the Russian prospective observational study "SPECTRUM" has been used. Calculations were performed with the help of the KNIME platform for the intelligence analysis. Methods of descriptive statistics were used to characterize the sample and analyse the structure of interventions. The groups were compared using non-parametric methods (contingency tables, Chi-square test). The dependence of the choice of therapeutic modality on various factors was evaluated by the intelligence analysis methods (building up of decision trees and association rules). Results. Endovenous thermal ablation were applied to 33% and 38% of the patients with great saphenous vein (GSV) and small saphenous vein (SSV) incompetence respectively. Endovascular interventions were used to treat 37% of the GSV reflux and 45% of the SSV reflux requiring the application of thermal ablation and stripping techniques. The thermal ablation/stripping ratio was 55/100 for GSV and 83/100 for SSV. "Doctor's number" in a list of participants of the study was the only factor taken into consideration in the choice of the method for the management of vertical reflux. After its exclusion from the set of factors influencing the choice of intervention, no associations with other factors was found. Conclusion. Endovenous thermal ablation hold a prominent place in the structure of prescribed interventions in the routine phlebological practice in Russia. The choice of the method for the treatment of saphenous trunks depends on the preferences and experience of the phlebologist.
