Trans-papillary endoscopic management has become the «gold standard» for patients with benign and malignant biliopancreatic diseases. Despite the rather low incidence of postoperative complications and rare mortality in comparison with traditional surgery, trans-papillary endoscopic management should be performed by highly qualified specialists, as this becomes a necessary condition for improving the effectiveness and safety of minimally invasive treatment, especially for patients with high surgery and anesthetic risks. The article describes the complications of trans-papillary endoscopic management, analyzes the risk factors and methods for their prevention.
