OBJECTIVE
To identify psychological resources for correction of professional burnout among residents in the specialty «anesthesiology-reanimatology».
MATERIAL AND METHODS
The study involved 88 residents aged 24.8±1.7 years. There were 43.2% of women and 56.8% of men. We used the following research methods: questionnaires «Attitude to work and professional burnout» by V.A. Vinokur, multi-level personal questionnaire «Adaptability» by A.G. Maklakov and S.V. Chermyanin, «Motivation of professional activity» by C. Zamfir, the method of professional demand for personality by E.V. Kharitonova, «Dominant states» technique by L.V. Kulikov.
RESULTS
We found signs of professional burnout in 62.5% of residents, reduced adaptive abilities — in 63.6%, high probability of maladaptive disorders — in 37.5% of respondents. We distinguished the following components among psychological resources for correction of professional burnout among residents: emotional (active, optimistic attitude to life, predominant stable positive emotional background, confidence in one’s strengths and capabilities, high satisfaction with life and assessment of one’s personal success), motivational (high satisfaction with activity and self-realization, possible achievement of social prestige and respect from colleagues); cognitive (satisfaction with realization of professional potential, positive attitude towards oneself as a professional, high self-esteem of professional competence); behavioral (high adaptive abilities, mental stability and behavioral regulation, focus on compliance with generally accepted norms of behavior); personal (low emotional lability and impulsivity, low anxiety, self-confidence, no conflicts and aggressiveness, high tolerance to mental and physical stress, tendency to wide social contacts).
CONCLUSION
Signs of professional burnout were identified in 62.5% of residents. Considering psychological resources for correction of professional burnout described at different levels, we proposed certain measures to prevent professional burnout among residents.
