Abstract:

Jeavons syndrome is one of the rare epileptic syndromes associated with photosensitivity. According to the current ILAE (International League Against Epilepsy) classification, this syndrome refers to epilepsy with eyelid myoclonia. Epilepsy with eyelid myoclonus is considered a rare disease not only due to low prevalence but also misdiagnosis. The presented clinical case proves the need for new approaches in treating patients since they can be more effective than commonly used drugs. The paper is based on a comprehensive search and review of information, study, and analysis of the PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science databases, randomized controlled and cohort studies, reviews, systematic reviews, and analysis of the author’s clinical cases.
