Abstract:

Sources of modern literature demonstrate a low prevalence of such a tumor as ovarian struma. This disease in the majority of cases (up to 50%) belongs to monodermal mature teratoma of the ovary consisting of thyroid tissue (only 1% of all ovarian tumors and 2.7% of all dermoid masses). The article presents our own observation of surgical treatment of a patient diagnosed with ovarian struma, as well as data on clinical and morphologic features of the disease.
