Ninety-seven reproductive-aged women with acute salpingitis and oophoritis, who were divided into 2 groups, were examined. Antibiotics were given lymphotropically to Group 1 patients (n=65) and intramuscularly to Group 2 patients (n=32). A control group comprised 20 healthy donor women of the same age. The lymphotropic administration of antibiotics was found to cause an earlier inflammation activity reduction with a shorter treatment time and lower doses of the drugs. The preserved local defense functions of lymphoid immunocompetent cells have a positive effect on genital mucosal regenerative and reparative processes.
