The article describes an anatomical experiment that determines the time a doctor spends on odontopreparation of certain groups of teeth.

OBJECTIVE

To identify the influence of the human factor during odontopreparation.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

In the experiment, a group of doctors individually performed odontopreparation of 4.4 and 4.6 teeth. This choice was made in favor of the distal group of teeth. The choice was due to the fact that these teeth are located in the distal part of the jaw and are the most difficult to access for a dentist during odontopreparation. The moment the dental instrument touched individual segments was recorded by a sound recording device. Subsequently, the processing time of the sectors of the prepared tooth was estimated and the relationship between the processing time of the sectors was found on the basis of the obtained video recording and the audio track. Teeth 4.4 and 4.6 were analyzed. As a result, numerical distributions were obtained showing which anatomical areas of the tooth (which groups of teeth) the doctor pays most attention to during preparation for prosthetics.

RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

At the end of the article, it was concluded that during odontopreparation, the doctor pays more attention to the most accessible areas of the tooth and less to hard-to-reach areas hidden from the eye. The doctor treats areas of the lateral surface of the tooth that are easily visible and easily accessible to him, while the lateral surfaces of the tooth, which are hidden from the doctor’s eyes, are less susceptible to manipulation.
