Study of wound healing effect of silver and cerium nanoparticles in treatment of uncomplicated skin wounds in an experiment. Russian Journal of Operative Surgery and Clinical Anatomy. 2024;(4):18-24

The experiments were carried out on rabbits using irradiation with an erbium laser (1.5 W) or a radio-knife to inflict a wound in the oral mucous membrane. It was shown that such wounds require less time to heal than those caused by a usual scalpel. Moreover, the tissue undergoing necrotization is rejected sooner just as it is resorbed by macrophages. Maturation of the granulation tissue in the wound canal and its fibrociactrical transformation takes less time. Regeneration and differentiation of epithelium as well as complete epithelialization of the defect occur much earlier while the scar that forms after the healing of the wound remains thinner and more pliable.
