Abstract:

Desmoplastic fibroma is a rare benign bone neoplasm characterized by local aggressive infiltration of fibroblasts, myofibroblasts, and mature collagen in bone tissue, which can compress vital structures such as blood vessels and nerves. Patient B. 41 years old was admitted with complaints of intense headaches, decreased vision in the right eye. CT scan revealed the formation of the sphenoid sinus on the right with destruction of the bones of the middle cranial fossa. The operation «Endoscopic endonasal removal of the sphenoid sinus formation with simultaneous plastic of the skull base defect» was performed. According to morphological studies, the picture corresponds to desmoplastic fibroma.
