The Moscow Region (MR) is the second most populous constituent entity of the Russian Federation. Cardiovascular diseases rank 2nd in the overall morbidity of the adult population and 1st in the mortality structure in the MR. MR is in second place in the Central Federal District in terms of mortality related to cardiovascular diseases (CVD). In the region, the CVD-related mortality is about 476.4 per 100.000 population.
OBJECTIVE
To assess the current state of organization of high-tech medical care for the MR residents in the field of cardiovascular surgery and define the strategy for future development.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
An assessment was made of the high-tech care by different profile groups for the period 2015—2020. The postoperative mortality rate for different types of interventions was determined. The high-tech care in MR was compared to that of the city of Moscow and federal centers.
RESULTS
A comprehensive assessment of the state of the organization and high-tech medical care for the population of the MR in the profile of cardiovascular surgery for the period 2015—2020 was carried out. The trends of accessibility of this type of care to the residents of the Moscow region for the period covered were assessed. A development strategy to improve the quality and quantity of high-tech medical care for the residents of the Moscow region has been elaborated.
CONCLUSION
The example of the development of regional vascular centers shows a positive trend in the number of treated patients with the acute coronary syndrome in the Moscow region. The next logical step would be to develop the accessibility of cardiac surgery to residents of the Moscow region. The proposed strategy will contribute to improving the organization and quality of care for this category of patients.
