In recent decades, there has been a trend towards delayed motherhood. At the same time, there is an increase in the number of pregnancies in adolescence. These age categories of primiparous women are at high risk for the development of complications of gestation, perinatal complications. One of the mechanisms for the development of complications is an imbalance in the system of pro-antioxidants.
OBJECTIVE
To conduct a comparative analysis of the course of pregnancy, childbirth, perinatal outcomes and the antioxidant system in women of young and late reproductive age.
MATERIAL AND METHODS
A prospective comparative cohort study was conducted, including 150 women, who were divided into III groups: I main group — 50 nulliparous women of older reproductive age; II main group — 50 nulliparous women of young age; comparison group — 50 nulliparous women of optimal reproductive age. Determination of standard biochemical parameters, general antioxidant status, activity of glutathione reductase, superoxide dismutase in venous blood serum.
RESULTS
At a young age, sexually transmitted infections and infections of the urinary system are more common. Patients of late reproductive age have a burden of somatic pathology and a burdened gynecological history. The course of pregnancy in patients of the studied groups with the same frequency was complicated by placental insufficiency, the threat of abortion, however, in patients of late reproductive age, gestational diabetes mellitus, gestational arterial hypertension more often developed. Pregnancy at a young and late reproductive age is stressful for the body. In patients of late reproductive age, it occurs against the background of insufficiency of the antioxidant system, and in young patients, against the background of immaturity of adaptation mechanisms. These violations underlie the development of complications of gestation.
CONCLUSION
With the onset of pregnancy, which in itself is a serious stress test for the body even in young women, there is a significant activation of peroxidation processes, especially in the presence of an initial deficiency of the antioxidant system in women of late reproductive age. In young primiparas, due to the immaturity of adaptation mechanisms, there is also an imbalance in the pro- and antioxidant systems.
