Abstract:

Updated findings about usage of hormonal contraceptives among patients with endometriosis are consolidated in the article: combined estrogen-progestogen contraceptives, including drugs with bioidentical estrogens; progestogen-only contraceptives, including intrauterine hormone-releasing system. Also evidence of the effectiveness and pathogenic justification of long-term treatment by drugs with micro dose of estrogen component and indications for choosing type of progestin for contraception are presented in the article. The authors introduce an algorithm for the usage of hormonal contraceptives among patients with severe infiltrative endometriosis, as well as its extragenital localization.
