Objective. To identify the relationship between cell membrane asymmetry and the movement of phosphatidylserine (PS) on its outer side, and functional and morphological disorders of sperm in infertile men.  Material and methods. Ejaculates of 18 fertile and subfertile males 78 (mean age 33.5±1.0 years) was examined. Externalization of PS was detected by staining sperm Annexin-V (AnV+) and propidium iodide (PI+), followed by visualizing a fluorescence microscope. Results. The differences in the percentage of AnV-positive sperm in the ejaculate fertile and subfertile men was revealed. The correlation between (AnV+/PI+)-sperm subfertile men with concentration, motility and morphology of sperm defects was studied. Conclusion. The obtained results showed that cell membrane asymmetry and the externalization of PS is a factor that reduces the sperm fertility.
