At the Institute of Plastic Surgery and Cosmetology (Moscow) cosmetology department, we have carried out a study of cosmetic products for the neck and decollete skincare — Uvenox NS1 cream and serum.

OBJECTIVE

To confirm the effectiveness in terms of the declared properties — the rejuvenating (regenerating) effect of the cream and the lifting effect of the serum.

MATERIAL AND METHODS

The study was conducted in two groups of volunteers. Participants in the first group — 10 women aged 46-60 years (average age 51.6 years) — once applied Uvenox NS1 serum to the chin and neck area. Before applying the product and for 5 hours after its application, the clinical picture was described using scales for evaluating the severity of facial oval line deformity and the severity of horizontal neck wrinkles. The depth of the selected wrinkles was also evaluated using computer photo processing (Antera system). Participants of the second group — 20 women aged 35-63 years (average age 51±8.1 years), mainly with a combined morphotype of facial aging – applied Uvenox NS1 cream twice a day to the chin, neck, and decollete areas for 2 weeks. The clinical picture was described using photo scales, the depth of neck wrinkles and the relief of certain skin areas of the decollete area were evaluated from photos after their computer processing (Antera system).

RESULTS

In group 1, when evaluating the clinical picture using scales, serum lift action was significantly detected in 4 participants out of 10. However, according to the conclusion of doctors and self-assessment data (survey of study participants), the effect of tightening the skin along the edge of the lower jaw and smoothing the neck wrinkles was observed in all 10 participants. The lifting effect reached its maximum one hour after serum application and was maintained for 3-5 hours. In group 2 participants, the effects were assessed after completing the cosmetic care course. The severity of neck wrinkles decreased by 17-23% (p<0.05), that of the neckline area wrinkles decreased by 17% (p<0.05). Both the condition of the facial oval and the skin color of the neckline area were also improved, but these changes were at the trend level and not statistically significant (p>0.05). The same results were obtained in the analysis of photographs. According to self-assessment (survey results), 90% of study participants noted increased elasticity and tightening of the neck skin and decollete area. The overwhelming number of participants (80%) confirmed the effect of reduced wrinkles in the neck and decollete area. More than half of them noted a clear line of the lower jaw edge and decreased redness of the decollete region. All twenty participants (100%) rated the aesthetic outcome (GAIS scale) of the two-week cosmetic care as a good one. According to the dynamic observation of the participants of groups 1 and 2, no adverse events were observed.

CONCLUSIONS

The clinical study performed showed Uvenox NS1 cream to be an effective cosmetic product for neck and decollete skincare with pronounced rejuvenating effect, and Uvenox NS1 serum to be an effective cosmetic product for a rapid lifting effect. The studied cosmetics are safe for long-term use (observation for 2 weeks) and are well tolerated by women even with sensitive skin (35% of participants).
