Abstract:

Objective: to improve the quality of early diagnosis of recurrent ovarian cancer. Material and methods. The investigation pools the results of following up 43 patients diagnosed with ovarian cancer who had received combined treatment. Results. Strict postoperative dynamic monitoring, including careful ultrasound examination, by correlating the level of the tumor marker CA125, could identify disease recurrence in 15 (34.9%) patients during a 12-month follow-up. Conclusion. Ultrasound-guided target diagnostic puncture biopsy of the mass found provides a way to morphologically verify tumor progression in all cases.
